ORDU TO HOST ROUND 3 ON 7-9 OCTOBER
LONDON, 23 August 2022: The City of Ordu on Turkiye’s Black Sea coast has been confirmed as the venue for round 3 of the World Downhill Skateboarding Championship (WDSC), with the dates for the event brought forward by one week and will take place on 7-9 October.
The WDSC has also confirmed that the first 50 competitors to register for the event online will have accommodation and food provided. “We are extremely pleased to confirm that we will be racing in Ordu and very grateful for the support we have received from Türkiye Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA), the Metropolitan Municipality of Ordu and the Governorship of Ordu Province, especially the offer of free accommodation and food for the first 50 competitors.” said Selim Kemahli, managing director of series promoter Race Marketing & Management.
Competitors will face a testing, fast and technical 2km track which has an average nine percent gradient and maxing out at 14 percent. It also ties together a series of sweeping turns as well as testing chicanes which will test every competitor. The track starts at the summit of Boztepe hill which towers above the City of Ordu and this new formidable track.
The event will be streamed live with all categories covered; qualifying, the knockout rounds, semi-finals and finals will be aired on the WDSC web site, Facebook and YouTube channels and Recast.
