Clarke and Parks Triumph in Wales
PONTRHYDFENDIGAID, Wales Sunday 8th September: The Brinx World Downhill Skateboarding Championship continued with round two of the international series on the Dolebolion farm track in Wales. Three days of high speed racing concluded with Australian Harry Clarke claiming the win and bragging rights in the open stand-up category and Canadian Kolby Parks taking both the podium and the World Championship title.
Twenty three elite riders representing nine nations came to Wales to “ride the dragon” and brave the steep and narrow track of Dolebolion farm. The highest ranked British rider, Jack Plummer took an unexpected tumble on the penultimate corner in the quarter finals and was eliminated from the competition. Title contender Owen Fox from the United States also crashed out during the quarter finals. The young French rider Andreas Bouclier edged out fellow countryman Adrien Paynel with Harry Clarke getting the best of Gregoire Schwab in the semi-finals. During the final Harry Clarke made it look easy in the final claiming top stop In Wales.
In the street luge category riders from Great Britain showed up in force and raced well with Andrew Speight, Josh Fieldwick and Phil Spencer all making it to the semi-finals of the competition. However Canadian Kolby Parks was there to steal the limelight and won the final against Josh Fieldwick making him the 2024 Brinx WDSC Champion in the Street Luge Category.
Next race will be on Roan Mountain Tennessee, where the WDSC 2024 season concludes and the winner of the Brinx Cup will be crowned on the 27th of October.
