The Brinx World Downhill Skateboarding Championship (WDSC) descends upon Wales

The second leg of the WDSC international series will take place in Pontrhydfendigaid, Wales from the 6th to the 8th of September. Top athletes from around the world in both the Stand Up Skate and Street Luge categories will “Ride the Dragon” in Wales before the series heads to Roan Mountain, USA where the winner of the Brinx Cup 2024 will be crowned.

In its pursuit of providing the best and most challenging rides for its athletes, the WDSC has brought the tour to Dolebolion Farm 30 miles southeast of Aberystwyth. Known locally as “Ride the Dragon”, the track tests riders’ abilities to their limits with a mix of high speed, high incline straights and sharp technical turns.

With two events still to go this season the competition is wide open for riders to claim victory in both the Street Luge and Stand Up Skate categories. Hot off his victory in Erzincan, Andreas Bouclier will have to work hard in the stand-up skate category as fellow in form Frenchman Adrien Paynel will also be in Wales to challenge for the lead in the overall standings. American rider Adam Westfall who is currently third in standings will be joined by countrymen Owen Fox and Micaiah Harness to battle it out in Wales before the series heads to the U.S.A. Returning to the Tour after a short absence will be another podium favourite, Australian Harry Clarke who will have his work cut out to get past the likes of Gregoire Schwab and Fabio Minnig from Switzerland and Stefano Barbizzi of Italy, the reigning World Skate Champion.
