WDSC Cumberland Valley Event Rescheduled to May 2027

Pennsylvania, USA — The World Downhill Skateboarding Championship (WDSC) has announced that its highly anticipated Cumberland Valley event in Pennsylvania will be postponed and rescheduled for May 14–16, 2027, due to circumstances beyond the organizers’ control.

Over the past several months, the WDSC management team has worked closely with Cumberland Valley Tourism and local stakeholders to establish the event as a premier stop on the World Downhill Skateboarding Championship calendar, with the goal of making it a recurring fixture in the years ahead. Following extensive consultations, local authorities have determined that additional time is required to complete the municipal approval process and ensure all road closure and public safety requirements are fully coordinated.

“As Cumberland Valley is a new stop on the World Downhill Skateboarding Championship calendar, our municipal approval process requires additional time to complete standard road closure and public safety coordination,” said Laura Delaney, Director of Tourism and Marketing for the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau. “To ensure a well-organized and safe event, the Cumberland Valley Visitors Bureau recommends moving the Cumberland Valley stop to May 14–16, 2027. We are thrilled to be partnering with the World Downhill Skateboarding Championship on bringing this exciting event to Cumberland County.”

While the postponement is disappointing for athletes, teams, and fans, both WDSC and local organizers remain fully committed to delivering a world-class event when racing arrives in Cumberland Valley.

“We are elated to have partnered with Cumberland Valley on what looks to be one of the fastest roads on our race calendar,” said Selim Kemahli, WDSC Promoter. “After long deliberations, we understand that the local authorities prefer this event to be held in the spring, and this now gives us ample lead time to ensure we deliver an unforgettable event worthy of a World Championship series. We very much look forward to racing at Cumberland Valley in what may be our opening round of the 2027 season.”
