Park City Downhill takes place in the beautiful Wasatch Mountain range of Utah, just outside the iconic mountain town of Park City. This is a high-speed, technical racecourse with four tight hairpin corners, smooth pavement, and racing speeds over 50mph. The track has great flow with excellent opportunities for drafting and passing, while still being fun and attainable for freeriding and less aggressive riders.

The event venue will be based at the Olympic Park Venue and features a chair lift shuttle system to bring riders back to the top after every run. with the racecourse running down the mountain along the Olympic bobsled track.

Located just 2-miles from town, and 45-minutes from an international airport, the event is especially accessible and easy to get to. Park City Downhill features a four-day race weekend open to freeriders, qualifying series racers, and Championship Tour racers. With a world-class team running the show and a venue made for downhill, it’s shaping up to be the biggest event of the season.

TRACK INFO

The course runs down the access road to the bobsled track just outside of Park City, Utah. It begins with a steep drop-in that sends riders into a fast right kink–left hairpin combo. From there, racers hit a sharp right hairpin, followed quickly by a tight left hairpin. The course then opens up into a long right-hand sweeper that ducks underneath the bobsled track, flowing into a series of high-speed sweepers. It finishes with a quick left kink into a snappy right hairpin party corner.

  • Do freeriders have to register with the WGSF to ride at Park City Downhill?
    • No, freeriders do not need to be members of the WGSF to skate at PCDH.
  • What safety requirements are there for riders?
    • Freeriders are only required to wear a full face helmet, slide gloves, and closed-toe shoes.
    • Racers are required to follow the WGSF safety requirements.
  • Will there be freeriding every day of the event?
    • Yes! Freeriding will take place all four days of the event. Freeride runs will drop behind each set of race heats, and timed qualifying runs.
  • Is there camping?
    • We hope so! At this time we do not have a designated rider’s campground. However, there many budget lodging options near the event
  • Is lunch included in the entry fee?
    • No, lunch is not included in the entry fee. However, a food truck will be onsite to purchase lunch. And, additionally, there are plenty of food options just 5 minutes down the road from the parking lot.
  • Will we have access to our cars during the event?
    • Yes! The parking lot is located right at the bottom of the hill, so you will be able to visit your car in between every run if you wanted to.
  • Can we leave and come back during the event?
    • Yes! The parking lot is accessible, but located outside of the road closure. So participants can leave and return as often as they’d like.
