KOZAKOV HOSTS ROUND 2 OF THE WORLD DOWNHILL SKATEBOARDING CHAMPIONSHIP

14 July, 2022, KOZAKOV (Czech Republic): An impressive turnout of over 100 riders marks a welcome return to action for this weekend’s ‘Kozakov Challenge’, round 2 of the World Downhill Skateboarding Championship.

The 12th Edition of the event is revered by riders as the ‘mecca of the sport’, with one of the longest and fastest tracks on the circuit – 2.88kms with speeds exceeding 105kmh – and returns after an enforced two year postponement due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Today’s free practice session is followed by Friday qualifying with the knockout and finals taking place on Saturday.

The riders with targets on their backs over the next three days include last weekend’s winners in the season-opener in Italy, Spain’s Diego Poncelet and Belgium’s Jasmine Hanegraef in Stand Up and Spain’s Mikel Echegaray Diez in Luge.
