NEW ERA FOR WORLD DOWNHILL SKATEBOARDING CHAMPIONSHIP UNDERWAY IN ITALY

8 July, 2022, MONTICIANO (Italy): The first event of the year and an exciting new era for the World Downhill Skateboarding Championship is underway in Monticiano, Italy.

An impressive international entry of more than 70 riders from around the world is headlined by a raft of champions and racing legends. Those to watch out for include; in Street Luge former world champions Canada’s Kolby Parks and Malaysian rider Abdil Mahdzan, national champions from Spain and Germany Mikel Echegaray and Martin Witzigmann.

The reigning world champion from Australia Harry Clarke tops the list of riders in Downhill, alongside the impressive Grace Wong from Malaysia and a trio of American aces Chase Hiller, Adam Westfall and legendary racer James Kelly.

Free practice is currently underway, with qualifying, the knockout rounds and finals taking place over the weekend.
