ERZiNCAN, (Turkey), Monday, 16 October: Spain’s Diego Poncelet bounced back after his third place in Saturday’s final to resume normal service and take the win on Sunday to clinch the Open Stand Up world title.

Poncelet again dominated the qualifying rounds and eased into the final and made no mistakes to take the win ahead of Australia’s Harry Clarke, his consecutive second place earning him the championship runners-up slot and narrowly missing out on the overall top step by just four points, finishing with 166 points to Poncelet’s 169.

Sunday’s final was almost rerun of Saturday but with Antoine Carlotti making it through and finishing in third place and edging race 1 winner Alexandros Tsouganakis into fourth but taking the final step on the championship podium with 104 points.

In women’s Stand Up Lisa Peters completed the double over Jasmijn Hanegraef to seal her first WDSC title.
