Thrilling Finale in Tamanique as World Downhill Skateboarding Championship Concludes in El Salvador

The final day of competition in Tamanique, El Salvador delivered nothing short of spectacular action. With non-stop racing across Open Skate, Women’s Skate, Open Luge, Open Inline, and Women’s Inline, athletes gave everything they had in the last event of the season—where the 2025 World Champions would ultimately be crowned.

The day progressed through multiple rounds of eliminations, with riders battling head-to-head until each discipline was narrowed down to its final four contenders.

Open Street Luge

Sixteen athletes entered the elimination rounds, fighting their way into a fiercely competitive final featuring Andy Lally (USA), Abdil Mahdzan (MYS), Frederick Laberge (CAN), and Kolby Parks (CAN).

Lally took an early lead, but Mahdzan kept the pressure high as all four athletes stayed locked together down the entire course. Parks made an impressive push forward but unfortunately crashed, losing his position in the race.

In the end, Andy Lally held strong to claim the victory, followed by Abdil Mahdzan in second and Frederick Laberge in third, with Parks finishing fourth after an otherwise outstanding run through the brackets.

Open Inline

Sixteen competitors fought for their spot in the final, which featured Carlos Andrés Quiroga (COL), Camilo Barrera (COL), Daniel Delgado (COL), and Nicolás Gómez Barajas (COL).

Light rainfall made conditions tricky, but the athletes adapted quickly. Barrera launched an incredible final push in the last sector, overtaking the field and securing the win. Delgado crossed in second, Quiroga in third, and Gómez Barajas in fourth, concluding one of the most exciting Inline races of the weekend.

Women’s Inline

The Women’s Inline final showcased four Colombian athletes: Alef Torres (COL), Ana Isabel Estrada Lopera (COL), Nancy Soriano (COL) and Yara Lima (COL).

Despite the damp conditions, all four riders delivered strong runs. Alef Torres crossed the line first to take the win, followed by Nancy Soriano in second, Ana Isabel Estrada in third, and Lina Yara in fourth.

Women’s Skateboard

The Women’s Skate final was set with Sabrina Ambrosi (ARG), Lisa Peters (NLD) and Yulia Shirly Tabares (COL). However, due to worsening weather conditions, the decision was made not to run the final for safety reasons. Final positions were therefore assigned based on points from the previous round.

Open Skateboard

Semi-Final 1 delivered a high-intensity battle between Nick Broms (USA), Owen Fox (USA), Óscar Gutiérrez (MEX), and Cole Trotta (USA). Fox held the lead, with Broms close behind until a crash near the finish line cost him his position. Fox advanced in first, followed by Trotta, Gutiérrez, and Broms.

Semi-Final 2 saw Adrien Paynel (FRA) maintain control from top to bottom, advancing to the final in first. Harry Clarke (AUS) secured second, with Antoine Carlotti (FRA) in third and Stefano Barbizzi (ITA) in fourth.

As the finals approached, weather conditions deteriorated rapidly. After discussions between athletes and organizers, the decision was made not to run the final. Final placements were determined based on semi-final results and qualifying times.

The Tamanique stop in El Salvador delivered an unforgettable finale to the season, offering world- class racing in a breathtaking location. The course, the atmosphere, and the warm support from the local community and organizers made this event one of the standout moments of the championship. We are incredibly grateful for the hospitality and partnership shown by El Salvador, and we look forward to returning next year to continue building on this exceptional experience.
