WDSC SET FOR SPECTACULAR DOUBLE-HEADER IN ERZINCAN

*New qualifying format

Thursday 5 October, ERZiNCAN, Turkiye: The World Downhill Skateboarding Championship is all set for a spectacular weekend of action in Erzincan, Turkiye on 13-15 October, with two races in two days to determine the outcome of the 2023 world championship.

In addition to the revised two-race format, promoter Race Marketing & Management (RMM) and the World Gravity Sports Federation (WGSF) will trial a new qualifying format in Open Skateboard.

The new format will see all riders go in Q1 with the top 20 progressing into Q2. The top 10 riders from Q2 will then progress into Q3 for a one run shootout.Riders remaining in Q1 can opt to do a second run to better their positions within that group.

Rider registration and technical scrutineering will take place on Friday morning, with competitors getting their first opportunity to run the fast 3.2km, 10-turn course on Ergan Dagi.

The first Qualifying session will take place on Saturday morning with the knockout rounds, semi-finals and Race 1 final taking place in the afternoon with the program repeated on Sunday.
